- Basal Body Temperature Charts - in response to ovulation,
progesterone increases, which is a hormone that increases the body
temperature. If your basal temperature suddenly increases
throughout your cycle, it is evidence of a possible ovulation.
- Progesterone levels - when an egg leaves a follicle (ovulation)
the remains of the follicle are called the corpus luteum. The
corpus luteum produces progesterone which helps prepare the uterus
for a fertilized egg. If progesterone levels are elevated, it
is evidence of a possible ovulation.
- Ultrasound - some ultrasound equipment may be able to identify
whether a follicle containing an egg has ruptured (ovulated) or
not. Several physicians use ultrasound monitoring even for
clomiphene cycles to get a better handle on whether follicles are
developing or not.
- Endometrial Biopsy - youchie! a small catheter is used to
suck some tissue from the lining of the uterus to determine if it is
"in sync" with what one would expect if you were
ovulating.
